The Spanish WCG qualifier took place this weekend in Madrid, with x6tence and Ledpc as the main favorites to take the qualification spot. The final stage of the qualifier featured eight teams in a single elimination bracket, playing best of one map. Organizers claim that the tournament-structure was chosen due to them not having “enough time”. The first round should see the very first upset. One of the main contesters to win the qualifier, Ledpc, should choke as they faced perpetual-play. The ordinary match tied up 15:15 and the match had to be settled in overtime. Ledpc did not manage to do what needed any could wave away to the hope of qualifying to WCG. The favorite role was now left alone for x6tence. The team recently did roster changes when replacing their team-captain José 'DrastyK' Blasco with Daniel 'furby' Luna. They should face perpetual-play in the grand final, fighting out who would be representing Spain in Counter-Strike 1.6 at WCG 2008 in Cologne, Germany.
